Analysis of the match between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur
Crystal Palace are going through a highly disappointing period, having suffered two heavy defeats in their most recent league matches. Losses of 0-3 to Manchester City and 1-4 against Leeds United have caused a rapid drop in the standings. From being in the top four, Crystal Palace have now fallen to 8th place after two consecutive rounds without a single point. Considering all competitions, the Selhurst Park side have gone four matches in a row without a win.
Not only that, Crystal Palace also have a poor run-up ahead of their clash with Tottenham. They were held to a 2-2 draw at home by KuPs in the UEFA Conference League, before losing to Arsenal on penalties in the English League Cup. These results clearly highlight the issues in both form and morale for Crystal Palace.
On the other side, Tottenham are not in much better shape either. After a heavy 0-3 defeat to Nottingham Forest on December 14, Thomas Frank’s team went on to lose 1-2 against Liverpool in the previous round. Currently sitting in 14th place, Spurs are well behind Crystal Palace in the standings.
Nevertheless, Tottenham do not need to be overly concerned about their trip to Selhurst Park. With Crystal Palace showing signs of fatigue, Spurs can take confidence from their solid away form. Statistics show that 14 of Tottenham’s 22 points in the 2025/26 Premier League season have been collected on the road, with four wins and two draws. Facing the team ranked fourth for away performance this season, Crystal Palace will find it difficult to force Tottenham into defeat.
